CPA firm Cooper Graci & Co. has merged with Enterprise, AL-based accounting firm Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC. The merger expands CRI's footprint into Texas for a total of seven states.
Cooper Graci & Co.'s two locations in Austin and Georgetown will now operate under the name of Carr, Riggs & Ingram, and its existing team joins CRI's 550 partners and staff serving more than 25,000 clients across the Southeast.
"CRI's ultimate footprint is outlined by our strategic growth plan, with Texas serving as the westward bookend of our Southeastern regional firm. We selected Austin as the entrée into Texas since, as the state capital, many of our industry specializations - governments, trade associations, and insurance - are heavily concentrated there," William H. Carr, chairman and managing partner of CRI, told AccountingWEB.
"We then selected Cooper Graci & Co. as the merging firm due to the quality of their partners and staff, natural cultural fit with CRI, and client base sophistication," he added.
Carr said the merger represents a beneficial relationship for CRI, Cooper Graci & Co., and the Austin business community because of CRI's expertise, specifically its health care practice, is strengthened by the addition of the Cooper Graci team, and their professionals are now able to offer clients a wider array of services backed by regional resources.
CRI offers clients accounting and advisory services now through the Austin market, as well as throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee, with additional expansion plans slated for 2010.
"CRI has grown from $8 million to $83 million in 12 years, and we only anticipate that pace accelerating," Carr said.
