The 2014 Winning is Everything conference will include executive level sessions designed to meet the educational needs of highly experienced marketing executives. All sessions will be available to any registered participant but are targeted to those with ten plus years marketing experience in the accounting profession.
Session topics include Data and Market Intelligence, Aligning Sales and Marketing to Fuel Growth, Strategically Building Your Marketing Department, and The Mind of the Buyer / Voice of the Client. The agenda and speaker lineup are currently being finalized and will be released soon.

New England-based Baker Newman Noyes, one of the nation's top 200 accounting and consulting firms, announced that Robert Croak, CPA, MST, formerly with one of the Big Four accounting firms, joined as a principal in the firm's growing tax advisory services practice.
Croak provides tax advisory services to middle-market corporate clients. He has significant experience within the cleantech, life sciences, technology, manufacturing, distribution, and retail sectors. Prior to joining Baker Newman Noyes, Croak served as director of global tax of a large multinational company based in Massachusetts and spent more than ten years as a tax senior manager at Big Four accounting firms. Croak earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Suffolk University and a Master of Taxation from Bentley University.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process that determines who will be honored. Part one of the process, worth one-quarter of the total evaluation, examined each entrant based on the company's workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems, and demographics. Part two of the process consisted of an employee survey that measured the employee experience. The combined scores from these two evaluative efforts determined the top companies and the final ranking.

Citrin Cooperman announced that Patricia A. Cummings has joined its New York City headquarters as a partner. Cummings will lead the firm's Capital Markets and Private Equity initiative, serve on the Executive Committee and the Audit and Attest Committee, and participate in the leadership of the real estate industry group. She will also oversee the firm's activities and increase its presence in the marketplace.
Cummings brings a wealth of more than twenty-five years of experience providing audit, accounting, and business consulting services to public and private multinational clients in a number of industries, including real estate, alternative energy, and technology. Cummings' client service experience includes leading complex engagements and helping clients confront challenging business issues. She has extensive experience in acquisitions, divestitures, and capital-raising transactions, including initial public offerings and complex financial reporting issues. In addition, Cummings has experience in the area of bankruptcy accounting and reporting.
Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Cummings spent seventeen years with Grant Thornton LLP, most recently as an assistant managing partner of its New York office, where she led audit engagements for global companies and served as the engagement quality review partner on other clients.
Cummings received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Long Island University, C.W. Post Center, and a Master of Business Administration in General Management from Dowling College. She also completed post-graduate executive education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler Business School. She is a certified public accountant in New York and Connecticut.
CohnReznick, the eleventh largest accounting, tax, and advisory firm in the United States, has announced the appointment of Ed Mason as a principal and director of National Sales.
Mason, who will be based in CohnReznick headquarters in New York City, will lead National Sales in numerous initiatives, including target identification and market research and support. With more than thirty years of sales and leadership experience in the professional services industries, Mason is highly skilled in delivering incrementally additive business development results.
Most recently, Mason served as national director of business development for tax at a Big Four accounting firm, where he had been for twelve years. He graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with a BA in economics.
Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell, P.C. (CBM), a leading Bethesda, Maryland–based full-service CPA and business advisory firm, announced that S. Vincent Crescenzi has been appointed to the office of treasurer of the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County (MHA), Maryland.
The MHA promotes mental wellness and supports those with mental illness by sponsoring and implementing education, advocacy, and community service programs. Since 1957, MHA has served Montgomery County residents. MHA currently manages ten major direct service programs for children, teens, families, senior adults, and individuals with long-term mental illness.

William Bossong, Beverly Seier, and George Noonan were recently admitted as Elliott Davis shareholders.
Bossong, located in the firm's Columbia, South Carolina, office, leads the firm's financial services consulting practice, where he is heavily focused on merger and acquisition matters for some of the most acquisitive banks in the Southeast. In the last two years, Elliott Davis' banking consulting team has doubled in size to respond to the industry convergence and resulting high demand for advisory services related to the pre- and post-acquisition of loan portfolios.
The firm also recently added two tax shareholders, Seier and Noonan, located respectively in the firm's Columbia and Charlotte, North Carolina, offices. Seier has more than twenty years of experience advising banks and insurance companies on complex tax matters. Rajesh Tripathi has joined Grant Thornton LLP as the national leader of the firm's recently launched India Business Group (IBG), based in McLean, Virginia.
The IBG is a collaborative initiative between the United States and India member firms of Grant Thornton International Ltd, offering services to US-based clients with, or planning, Indian activities and operations. These services include corporate tax, individual income tax, transfer pricing, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and market entry investment strategies. The group will target major growing sectors in the Indian economy, including financial services, life sciences, technology, infrastructure, manufacturing, real estate, retail, and telecommunications. The IBG will have a future focus on growing Indian-based companies with investment into the United States. Tripathi will lead a team of specialized subject matter experts from India and current and former US secondees to India.
Tripathi has nearly fifteen years of experience advising multinational clients on numerous Indian tax and business issues, including international tax outbound/inbound, tax treaties, corporate tax, restructuring, and transfer pricing. He has extensive experience across various industries, including financial services, energy, private equity, real estate, and technology.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton, he was a senior director in international corporate services at Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC in Washington DC, and he previously spent two years on secondment with KMPG India. He began his career in international tax at Ernst & Young in Chicago.
Tripathi received a Master of Laws from Chicago-Kent College of Law, a Bachelor of laws from the University of Bombay-Government Law College, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Mumbai.
Grant Thornton LLP, the US member firm of Grant Thornton International Ltd, announced an all-time high revenue for its fiscal year ending July 31. Grant Thornton generated $1.274 billion in revenue in its 2013 fiscal year, up 5 percent year over year.
Revenue growth was driven organically across the firm's service lines. Grant Thornton's Advisory Services continued to lead the firm's growth by advancing 9 percent from the previous year. The firm's Audit Services, in which the competitive environment remains high, grew by 2 percent while Tax Services grew by 6 percent. The firm's Financial Services, Energy and Healthcare practices led from an industry perspective, all realizing double-digit growth for the year.
The firm resolved several long-standing legal matters during the year. It also made several notable investments that will create synergies and efficiencies moving forward, including the opening of its shared service center in Bangalore, India, and its recent acquisition of the Oracle Solutions business unit of MarketSphere LLC. The acquisition expands the firm's Technology Solutions practice, which is part of the firm's Business Advisory Services.

KPMG LLP, the US audit, tax and advisory firm, announced that Rebecca (Becky) Sproul has been named National Managing Partner, University Relations and Recruiting for the firm.
In this role, Sproul will work closely with the firm's partners and campus recruiters to build relationships with students and faculty and to heighten the brand of the firm with students. Sproul will lead a dynamic campus recruiting and university relations organization that will expand on KPMG's already distinguished US and global internship program, key faculty and classroom resources and training, and student diversity and leadership development initiatives. Sproul succeeds Stacy Sturgeon, a KPMG partner based in Dallas who will return to her primary role of serving Audit clients.
Sproul, who is based in KPMG's Miami office, served for nearly ten years as KPMG's partner-in-charge of recruiting for the South Florida market and campus lead partner for the University of Florida. Sproul has more than twenty years of experience providing audit services to clients in the financial services and software sectors, specifically in financial statement audit, internal control audit, and performance improvement. She is one of KPMG's national instructors and has presented at many seminars and open forum discussions on accounting and auditing matters as well as KPMG's student leadership programs.
Sproul earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Florida International University.
Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain, PC (LBMC), one of the Southeast's largest accounting and business consulting firms, has added Dennis Logan, CPA, and Paige Watson in its Brentwood (Nashville) office.
Logan has joined the accounting firm as a staff accountant in the Entrepreneurial Services Division of the Tax Department focused on the auto industry and tax research. He has two years public accounting experience, an in-depth of knowledge of tax research, and auto dealership experience. He passed his CPA exam on the first attempt. Logan received his bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He earned his master's degree in accounting from Golden Gate University graduating with high honors.
Watson has joined the accounting firm in a staff position in the accounting and assurance services department where she will be working in the audit division in a variety of industries, including healthcare and manufacturing. Watson graduated summa cum laude from Tennessee Tech University where she received both a master's degree in business administration and a bachelor's degree with an accounting focus. She is currently studying for her CPA.
The CPA firm of Leone, McDonnell & Roberts, Professional Association recently announced the promotions of Kristen Bournival, CPA, and Shauna Brown, CPA.
Bournival joined the firm in 2007. As a supervisor in the firm's Dover office, she specializes in audits of small businesses and nonprofits as well as employee benefit plans. Bournival is also responsible for providing tax planning and preparation services for both businesses and individuals. Bournival graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting in 2007.
Brown, formerly a supervisor, began her career at Leone, McDonnell & Roberts in 2006. As a manager, her practice is primarily dedicated to providing audit and review services for closely held businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Brown works with a wide range of clients, which include manufacturers, distributors, not-for-profits, and HUD organizations. She also has experience in taxation. Brown received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2002.

Holmes is a 2007 and 2008 graduate of Rockhurst University, where he received both his bachelor's degree and MBA. He serves as the National Practice Leader for RubinBrown's Hospitality and Gaming Services Group, managing and supervising gaming regulatory audits, internal control assessments, business improvement reviews, policy and procedure development, and financial statement audits. Holmes was recognized for the award during Rockhurst's Family and Alumni Weekend, September 27 and 28, including a special Alumni Award Luncheon. The Faber Young Alumni Award is given annually to a Rockhurst alumnus who is under the age of forty and graduated fifteen years ago or less.
