A.T. LOCKE, a provider of accounting services, business analysis, and financial and strategic guidance to emerging and midsized organizations, has added Ebony Austin as an administrative assistant on the firm's rapidly growing team.
Austin attended Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina, before relocating to Greenville and completing an associate's degree in criminal justice at Greenville Technical College.

The Food and Beverage practice of the accounting and advisory services firm of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP (Baker Tilly) will present "Breaking Down Barriers to Growth via Waste to Energy Solutions" at the International Cheese Technology Exposition (ICTE). The exposition will be held April 10-12, 2012, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The ICTE is the world's largest gathering devoted solely to the multibillion-dollar market for cheese and related dairy products.
Mike Fitzpatrick and Joel Laubenstein from Baker Tilly will lead an interactive discussion with industry experts regarding the growing issues around waste management in the cheese industry and creative financing and engineering solutions to deal with the common challenge.
"Our involvement with the ICTE builds on our continued focus and expertise within the food and beverage industry," said Brad DeNoyer, partner with the Food and Beverage practice. "In fact, we were recently awarded a grant to create a strategic plan to support an increase in the development and utilization of waste from agriculture and cheese production as feedstock for alternative energy sources."
CEO Neal Spencer of BKD, LLP, has announced his intention to step down from the firm's top post around June 1. He is stepping down to spend more time with family and pursue other professional passions within the firm.
"It has been my highest honor and privilege to serve as CEO of BKD," Spencer said.
Spencer has been the CEO since June 1, 2007, and will remain with BKD. After shifting his duties and responsibilities to the new CEO, he will assist in evaluating existing growth and service opportunities and pursuing new opportunities for the firm. BKD has a succession plan in place and is moving forward with identifying Spencer's successor.
"The partner chosen to succeed me will have the passion to take our firm to heights even greater than I imagined, and I will be the next CEO's biggest supporter," Spencer said. Mark S. Carrow, CPA, MST, and the Philadelphia managing partner of accounting, tax, and business consulting firm of Citrin Cooperman, will discuss the financial considerations associated with succession planning for businesses at an upcoming program hosted by the Southern Lehigh and Upper Bucks Chamber of Commerce. "Succession Planning: Protecting Your Business for the Long Term," will be held on March 7, 2012, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania.
The program will focus on business succession of leadership or ownership, including proactive steps to succession and exit planning; foundational elements for a successful succession, merger, or acquisition; maximizing the financial benefits of a succession; and understanding buy-sell agreements. It will also include a case study of the succession of CEOs at QNB (formerly Quakertown National Bank). Carrow will be joined by panelists Edward J. Lentz, Esq., shareholder of Fitzpatrick, Lentz & Bubba; Tom Bisko, CEO of QNB; David Freeman, president and COO of QNB; and Gina F. Rubel, Esq., president and CEO of Furia Rubel Marketing and Public Relations.

CEO Kris McMasters of CliftonLarsonAllen, has announced the admission of seven new partners to the firm.
Travis Chamberlain, CPA, has been named partner in the firm's Indianapolis office. He has more than ten years' experience in providing valuation, forensic accounting, and financial modeling services to a variety of publicly traded and privately held companies. Chamberlain has performed valuations of businesses, intangible assets, derivatives, and various other instruments, including securities in complex capital structures. Chamberlain is a graduate of Ball State University with a degree in accounting.
Qasim Collidge, CPA, has been named partner in the firm's Baltimore office. He has more than twenty-five years of public accounting experience and specializes in planning and managing audit engagements, providing acquisition accounting consulting, due diligence, and purchase price accounting assistance for commercial middle-market companies in the manufacturing, distribution, service, and technology industries. Collidge also has extensive experience with providing guidance and accounting assistance with internal control systems development. Collidge received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Albright College.
Randie Dial, CPA, has been named partner in the firm's Indianapolis office. He has spent the last fourteen years focusing on business valuation engagements, especially on valuations for financial reporting. Dial also has experience in performing valuations for estate/gift tax purposes, ESOPs, and marital dissolutions. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Ball State University.
Jennifer Hammond, JD, has been named partner in the firm's Washington, DC, office. She has more than thirteen years of Big 4 forensic accounting experience, specializing in reactive confidential investigations and proactive risk management assessments. Hammond is responsible for leading accounting investigations related to fraud, waste, and abuse in public and private companies, nonprofit organizations, and governmental agencies. Hammond received her bachelor's degree from the University of Baltimore and her master's from the University of Baltimore School of Business. She graduated cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Elliott Leary, CPA, has been named partner in the firm's Washington, DC, office. He has more than thirty years of experience conducting high-profile investigations as a special agent with the FBI and as the KPMG partner-in-charge of the Washington, DC, forensic practice. Leary performs fraud and misconduct investigations and risk assessments for leading national and multinational corporations as well as for public and nonprofit entities. He has assisted clients in the prevention and deterrence of fraud through the evaluation, development, and implementation of antifraud programs and controls.
Jamey Rappis, JD, has been named partner in the firm's Milwaukee office. Rappis joined the firm in 2007 and is a leader in CliftonLarsonAllen's Private Tax consulting practice. He has more than seventeen years' experience in the areas of estate and gift tax, estate and business succession planning, and retirement planning. Rappis leads the Private Tax consulting practice, leveraging his tax and estate planning expertise across the firm to high net worth families and individuals. Rappis received his bachelor's degree from Notre Dame and his Juris Doctor in law from Marquette University.
Tim Reynolds, CPA, has been named partner in the firm's St. Joseph, Missouri, office. He has more than eighteen years of private industry and public accounting experience. He specializes in tax services for corporations, partnerships, and high net worth individuals with an emphasis on businesses in the manufacturing and wholesale distribution industries. Reynolds also has extensive experience with federal and state income tax compliance, income tax accounting/provision services, and uncertain tax positions. Reynolds received his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Toledo.

Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain, PC (LBMC), an accounting and business consulting firm in the Southeast, has added Lisa McClain and Lee Ann Payne to its Knoxville office.
McClain has joined the firm as a staff member with the audit department. She is a recent graduate of East Tennessee State University with a master's in accountancy and is also a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a bachelor's degree. Most recently, McClain is celebrating the completion of all four parts of the CPA exam.
Payne has joined the firm as a staff member with the accounting services department. Prior to joining LBMC, she provided independent consulting services for nearly eighteen years. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Cindy Harper of Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain has been awarded the prestigious Bill King Award by the United Way of Williamson County. Harper is a tax partner in the firm's Nashville office and a leader in its Wealth Management Practice.
The Bill King Award is given to those individuals who demonstrate a commitment to United Way as exemplified by one of United Way's long-time partners and friends, William B. King. Harper currently serves as Treasurer on the Williamson County Long-Term Recovery Committee, which is assisting victims of the May 2010 flood. She is an active member of the Patricia Hart Society and has just been elected to its board. She has served on United Way's Board as chair and campaign chair and is an emeritus board member.
Jennifer Ehmke, a software industry professional with twenty years' experience working in the accounting industry partner channel as a reseller, consultant, and manager, has joined Tamlin Software Developers, Inc. as the company's operations manager, a position created just for her. The announcement was made by Tamlin CEO Linda Bryan.
In her role, Ehmke will drive the future development of Tamlin's Manufacturing Conductor™ product, an add-on to AccountMate. She will be creating ways to speed up response time, defining processes to meet projected needs, and initiating proactive communications with customers and partners in the AccountMate reseller channel.
