The word is extremely positive among chief financial officers; they are forecasting a 14 percent increase in hiring accounting and finance professionals in 3rd quarter 2000.
This and other key HR findings are the result of the new Hiring Index released by Robert Half International.
The random sample of 1,400 companies with 20 or more employees reports that only two percent of respondents indicated a reduction in new hires. A majority of 81 percent reported no change in hiring at all.
By region, CFOs working in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania (the mid-Atlantic states) predict they will increase their staffs by 22 percent. From an industry perspective, business services, (advertising, personnel, repair and recreation), finance, insurance and real estate predict the largest growth.
